Frequently Asked Questions
How can I confirm my order?
For orders under $400 full payment is required to confirm the order. For orders over $400 a 30% deposit is requested to hold the date, with the remainder due 7 days before the event date.
How early should I order my cake?
Please confirm your order at least 2 weeks in advance. More notice is always welcomed and appreciated. The earlier the better.
Can I cancel my order?
Cancellations made 7 days before the event date will have 100% of the payment returned. Cancellations made within 7 days of the event will have 50% of the payment will be returned. Orders may not be canceled within 72 hours of the confirmed pick up date and time. Please notify me email at hi@ardsydney.com.au if you wish to cancel.
Do you deliver cakes?
Pick-up and delivery are both available. Delivery is $40 across Metro Sydney. Delivery can be organised for events further to Greater Sydney depending on the distance. If picking up your cake, I suggest it is secured on the floor or held. The cake can travel for up to 45 minutes without any issues. Longer then 45 minutes I will suggest ice packs to keep it cold.
Do you offer vegan/gluten free/dairy free bakes?
All my cakes are vegan. This means they are also dairy free. I offer gluten free options for some of my bakes. I do not bake in a gluten free kitchen so there is no guarantee of cross-contamination with wheat particles. I keep the space and utensils seperate.
What should I know about baklava cakes?
My baklava cakes are not traditional sponge cakes. I use fine filo pastry. For this reason, when cutting your cake please use a super sharp knife to cut through the layers.
Can I order a custom flavour?
I do not keep a set menu for my custom cakes. I work with seasonal, cultural flavours and your preferences. Baking is both art and therapy for me. To keep my creative process alive, I do not limit the flavour pairings with a set menu. The flavours I use in my classic cakes are the flavours I love working with.
Are the flowers on the cake edible?
For my classic cakes all flowers are edible. For my custom cakes some flowers are edible. Some are not. All stems are carefully wrapped to avoid contact with the cake. I will inform you through email of which flowers to avoid if any.
What should I keep note of?
I do not take single orders for mini cakes. I only take pre-orders for mini-cakes on my menu at pop-ups. I do not write on my cakes. I do not offer custom object shapes for my cakes.
