Hello. I was walking through Newtown and I ventured into the Redfern convenience store and I saw the plant-based Nutella. Yes, it was $20 for a jar. Yes, I bought it. Yes, I will buy it again. Sometimes I think my tastebuds have been skewed being vegan for 10 years, but then I confirmed the goodness of this Nutella by getting my sister to taste it (non-vegan). She said it was almost exactly the same. We proceeded that night to make Nutella pizzas on Lebanese bread we had lying around. It was a great time.
Now, onto the recipe. Nutella buns. I titled this recipe as chocolate hazelnut buns because the buns are filled with both Nutella and a homemade hazelnut praline. So, they are more than just a Nutella bun. Nothing against a Nutella bun. I love the simplicity of these buns and the depth created by adding a touch of espresso in the hazelnut praline. Mature? Yes. But not really. The Nutella pays homage to our inner children. Here’s the recipe.
