Hello. Time for another recipe eeep. Looking at this bun after the bake, I thought to myself Maritozzi - the Italian Cream Bun that is absolutely divine. I didn’t set out to re-create this bun. I wanted more cream in the bun and settled on this structure. Assembling the cardamom bun, I wanted more cream so I cut it down the middle and there the cream sat all pretty. I don’t think it’s exactly a Maritozzi because of the cardamom. I reverted to a google search if there is a cultural tie to cardamom with dough. Enter the traditional Swedish cardamom cream bun, Selmor or Selma. Selmor, has the addition of an almond paste. Yum. I must try or try to bake? The shape of is also different from the maritozzi. Back to the bun at hand. A cross between a maritozzi and semla, spiced with cardamom and topped with a brown sugar syrup glaze.

The ingredients should make 4 to 6 buns.
